Many embedded solutions are not only contingent upon the processor performance, but also on the same number of interfaces, again and again. Among these process interfaces are for instance Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C and graphics boards. We have defined one embedded bus that provides these recurring interfaces as a plug-in connection to a module. The pin allocation is clearly defined and so are the ancillary mechanical requirements. We call our PHYTEC modules that support this bus – phyCARDs. The motherboard that acts as the interface to your application exclusively communicates with the processor core through standard interfaces. Bridges to e.g. SPI, I2C or USB make it possible to implement additional interfaces on the motherboard.
phyCARDs-based product designs can be achieved with different controller architectures without having to make changes to the motherboard itself. These products can be flexibly adapted to pertinent market requirements. Entire device series can be optimized with regard to both, performance and price, using the different applicable phyCARD modules.
Future performance enhancements can now be integrated into your current designs today. Whenever components are no longer available because their production has been terminated – even if they are controllers – the motherboard will no longer have to be redesigned. You benefit from the long-term availability, flexibility in price and performance as well as the scalability within device series.
Professional implementations of the operating systems Linux and Windows Embedded CE (resp. XP Embedded for the Z500PT) will further reduce your development work and will enable you to get standards to the market rapidly.

Special Feature: We would like to point these features out as special to this produkt.
Certain combinations of options might not be configurable. Reasons herefor might be the pinmapping of the controller. (multiple usage of pins)
