“Get to know the PHYTEC PLUS”: A plus Services, strong partnerships and new System on Modules

Mainz, October 17, 2024

Phytec will be presenting itself at electronica (November 12-15, Messe München) together with partners. Under the motto "E²MS+ – Get to know the PHYTEC PLUS", the Mainz-based company will be presenting the extensive Services around its embedded components. These range from in-house development and production to Services for customized electronics, embedded security, device management, and image processing, as well as perfect integration with technology and software partners. New products include SOMs and SBCs with Phytec's new FPSC module standard and processors from NXP Semiconductors, STMicroelectronics, and Texas Instruments.

Developers of embedded systems face complex challenges – from security requirements and protection against cyberattacks to networking and upgradeability, as well as software integration and maintenance. Added to this are shorter product cycles, challenges in component procurement, and a shortage of skilled workers. Phytec's strategy is to provide its customers with the best possible support, thus minimizing development time, costs, and risks. Customers benefit from the Phytec team's expertise and long-standing partnerships, for example, with processor manufacturers NXP, STMicroelectronics, and Texas Instruments, as well as other companies that will be exhibiting together with Phytec at electronica.

Phytec technology partner: from LoRaWAN to modular EV charging electronics

As technology partners, Actron, Miromico, and Pionix demonstrate how Phytec expands its embedded expertise through partnerships, thus offering customers the best possible integration. For example, the 7" and 10,1" IPS displays from the manufacturer Actron are directly supported by the Phytec development kits, enabling the fastest possible entry into development. Miromico complements Phytec in the areas of IoT integration and LoRaWAN. Customers receive coordinated electronics and development support from a single source. Phytec collaborates with the software company Pionix on the development of solutions for EV charging electronics. This resulted in the phyVERSO-EVCS, a modular electronics system for charging controllers. It is perfectly coordinated with Pionix BaseCamp, an open-source operating system for charging stations that supports all standards from the charging process and energy management to related e-mobilityServices .

Software and hardware perfectly integrated and secure

A plus of Phytec is the comprehensive support with embedded software and middleware as well as comprehensive ServicesThese include, for example, the phyKNOX Embedded Security offering with its own Linux security distribution, monitoring of potential security threats, and a software maintenance service. Qbee and Phytec will present joint solutions for Linux device management, OTA software updates, and secure remote access. For integration in EtherCAT environments, IBV, another long-standing Phytec partner, has developed a master stack and configuration library tailored to numerous phyBOARD single-board computers. IBV will also be represented at Phytec's electronica booth.

New System on Modules and Single Board Computers

Besides these Services and partnerships are new Products The focus of the trade fair presentation: Phytec will showcase system-on-modules and single-board computers with the latest processors, including SOMs with the NXP i.MX 95 and a preview of the first module with a TI AM6x processor, which comply with the Phytec FPSC (Future Proof Solder Core) standard. FPSC is based on a footprint with different zones. This enables scalable performance, interchangeability and upgrades, as well as flexibility for integrating future innovations. The result is maximum investment security for designs based on the standard.

Phytec is also presenting the phyCORE-i.MX 91 SOM with the NXP i.MX 91 processor for the first time. The module is particularly cost-effective and pin-compatible with the phyCORE-i.MX 93.
