Development platform for i.MX 8M Plus
The phyFLEX-i.MX 8M Plus FPSC Rapid Development Kit is our development platform for evaluating the features of the NXP i.MX 8M Plus processor and directly testing your own custom software. The processor combines Arm Cortex-A53 cores (up to 1,6 GHz), Arm Cortex-M7 (800 MHz), and an integrated NPU with up to 2,3 TOPS. LVDS, MIPI-DSI, and native HDMI are available for developing graphical user interfaces. Combined with an M.2 slot for modules such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the platform is also suitable for networked embedded and IoT applications.
Vision and HMI in one development system
The phyFLEX-i.MX 8M Plus Rapid Development Kit combines display and camera interfaces on a single development platform. MIPI CSI-2 for our phyCAM-M, in conjunction with the processor's integrated ISP, enables the direct implementation of embedded vision concepts, while 2x LVDS, MIPI-DSI, and HDMI support the development of suitable HMI concepts. This allows image processing and user interfaces to be built and tested in parallel, thus shortening the coordination time between sensors, evaluation, and visualization.

Flexible extensions for development tasks
For functional expansion, the development kit is equipped with an M.2 E-Key interface. This allows for the flexible integration of additional expansion cards, enabling the early incorporation of communication, storage, or application-specific functions into the development process. This is complemented by PCIe and USB 3.0 for fast data transfer between the module, peripherals, and expansions. This ensures the platform remains open for various evaluation and prototyping tasks.
Direct software access
For a quick project start, a Yocto-based solution is available. BSP available. It is supplemented by a QuickStart Guide that provides structured support for commissioning and the first development steps. This allows software development to begin early, in parallel with hardware evaluation.
