Description:
This kit enables the VM-020-L board-level camera to be used with any compatible embedded imaging kit. The phyCAM-L interface connects the camera module and converter board via a single coaxial cable up to 15 m in length. Power-over-coax eliminates the need for a separate power supply cable.
On the receiver side, the VZ-018 converter board provides conversion to MIPI CSI 2. It can be easily connected to a compatible embedded imaging kit via the phyCAM-M interface.
The FPD Link III-based phyCAM-L interface is transparent for data transmission. Therefore, after initializing the transmission link, the data already present in the BSP Integrated camera drivers are used for the VM-020 module.
The converter board has two phyCAM-L inputs. Two camera modules can be selectively connected to the phyCAM-M output. Power for the camera module can be supplied directly from the computer board via the phyCAM-M interface or, if required, externally via the converter board.
The kit includes a highly flexible RG1.37 coaxial cable, ideal for internal wiring. It can be connected directly to the UMCC Gen. 1 connectors on the camera module and converter board. Other cable types (e.g., RG174) can be used via pigtail adapters (accessories). Adapters are available with SMA or FAKRA connectors.
For series production, the converter circuit is typically integrated onto the baseboard. The necessary information and reference circuit diagrams are included in the kit.

The phyCONTROL ‑ Ain already has an on-board converter and can be connected directly to a phyCAM ‑ L camera module via a Fakra adapter.
