Starter kit for easy setup of phyCAM-L mini cameras
The phyCAM-L mini starter kit makes it possible to expand any phyCAM-M mini camera with the phyCAM-L interface. This kit combines a small size with a single-wire camera cable up to 15 m long. It contains all the necessary components to upgrade a phyCAM-M camera system to the phyCAM-L interface.
Kit contents:
- phyCAM-L mini backplane VZ-023 with FPD-Link III interface
- phyCAM-L to phyCAM-M converter board VZ-018
- phyCAM-L coaxial cable RG1.37 (1 m length) with UMCC Gen.1 connectors
- phyCAM-M cable for connecting the converter board to an embedded imaging kit
- Fastening material for the backplane
- Instructions and reference circuit diagrams
Note: For operation, a phyCAM-M (mini) camera and an embedded imaging kit with phyCAM-M camera input are required. Please order suitable Products order too!
Characteristics:
- Compact integration: The serializer backplane fits exactly behind a phyCAM-M mini camera and is easily connected to the integrated phyCAM-M pigtail. Mounting material is included in the kit.
- Powerful connection: The phyCAM-L interface connects the camera module and the converter board via a single coaxial cable with a length of up to 15 m. Thanks to Power-over-Coax, no additional power supply cable is required.
- conversion: The VZ-018 converter board provides conversion to MIPI CSI-2 on the receiving side. It can be easily connected to a compatible embedded imaging kit.
- Power supply: The camera module is powered via the phyCAM-M interface or, if required, externally on the converter board. A highly flexible coaxial cable of type RG1.37 is particularly suitable for internal device wiring and can be connected directly to the UMCC Gen.1 sockets on the camera module and converter board. Pigtail adapters for other cable types are available as accessories.
- Flexibility: phyCAM-L mini camera modules are available with different lenses. Let us put together your individual camera module.
phyCAM-L interface: The phyCAM-L camera interface is based on the FPD-Link III standard from Texas Instruments and enables cable lengths of up to 15 m between the camera module and the computer board. The coaxial cable serves as a data channel and for power supply. Data is transmitted using the proven FPD-Link III protocol. The phyCAM-L module can also be optionally equipped with the industrial interface variant V³Link. It offers expansion options for lighting or lens control and is particularly suitable for internal device cabling.
Easy integration: A kit with a receiver board (VZ-018) is available for development, which can be connected to all processor boards with a phyCAM-M MIPI CSI-2 interface. The receiver board converts the image data into the MIPI CSI-2 format and supplies the camera module with power (Power-over-Coax). The design documentation in the kit makes it easier to integrate the receiver circuit into your own designs.
