Long cable length and small size
The phyCAM-L mini backplane combines the extremely small size of the phyCAM-mini cameras with the phyCAM-L solution for long camera cables. This is ideal if the application requires a small camera footprint and a distant camera position.
The backplane is simply screwed behind any phyCAM-M mini camera board and connected to it using the integrated phyCAM-M pigtail. The functionality corresponds to that of the corresponding phyCAM-L standard model - with extremely compact dimensions of typically 18 x 26 mm and a depth of less than 15 mm (plus lens).
Just like its “big brother”, the phyCAM-L mini also has an expansion interface where power supply, an I²C interface as well as strobe and shutter signals from the camera sensor are available.
You can of course purchase phyCAM-L mini camera modules from us ready-made with your desired lens. Simply have your individual camera module put together.
About phyCAM-L
Phytec's phyCAM-L camera interface is based on the FPD-Link III standard from Texas Instruments. It allows cable lengths of up to 15 m between the camera module and the computer board.
The flexible coaxial cable is both a data channel and a power supply. No additional cable is required. Data transmission is carried out using the FPD-Link III protocol, which has proven itself in the automotive sector. Optionally, the phyCAM-L module can also be equipped with the industrial interface variant V³Link.
The camera module even offers a plug-in connection for expansions such as lighting or lens control.
A special feature of phyCAM-L is that the system is also particularly suitable for device-internal cabling. This can be done with a millimeter thin, inexpensive RG1.37 cable. External connections can be tailored to the task at hand using pigtail adapters.
Easy integration
A kit with a receiver board (VZ-018) is available for development, which can be connected to all processor boards with a phyCAM-M MIPI CSI-2 interface. The receiver board converts the image data into the MIPI CSI-2 format and supplies the camera module with power (Power-over-Coax). The kit includes design documentation that makes it easy to integrate the receiver circuitry into your own designs.
