phyVIP is the compact, industrial-grade platform for customized embedded vision systems. Measuring just 60 × 73 mm, the baseboard combines computing power, AI acceleration, power supply, and industrial interfaces – fully developed, tested, and ready to use. phyVIP already integrates all the central hardware components of a vision system:
Processor platform, AI accelerator, power supply and industrial interfaces.
No complex basic design. No new development of the power supply.
Application-specific adaptation is achieved via a deliberately simple plug-in board. Ideally, it only carries the necessary connectors – quickly developed, cost-effectively implemented. The result:
Significantly reduced design risks, shorter development cycles, faster start to series production.

AI on the Edge – scalable as needed
The platform is optionally based on NXP i.MX 8M Plus or i.MX 95 with integrated NPU.
For more demanding requirements, two further AI expansion stages are available:
- phyVIP-1: Hailo-8 with 26 TOPS
- phyVIP-2: Kinara ARA-2 with 40 TOPS
The accelerators are integrated on-board in a space-saving manner – without additional modules.
All heat-generating components are located on one side. Thanks to energy-efficient architecture, a passive cooling is possible.
This allows computing power to be scaled in a future-proof manner – without redesigning your application hardware.
Seamless camera integration
Up to two phyCAM M Board-level cameras can be connected directly.
Drivers are in LinuxBSP Integrated – no additional software integration effort required.
Flexible FFC cables allow for free positioning. Matching lenses are available in our portfolio. This results in a complete vision solution from a single source.
Maximum interface freedom
All interfaces – except for the plug-and-play camera inputs – are routed to two high-density board-to-board connectors.
The integrated wide-range power supply (12–36 V DC) eliminates the need for additional regulator designs.
Special solutions such as PoE can also be implemented via the add-on board.
