Arm Cortex-A53/-R5F

The phyCORE®-AM62A is a new member of PHYTEC's AM62x-based System-on-Module (SoM) family. This module offers advanced features for edge computing and analytics and is fully pin-compatible with the phyCORE-AM62x SoM, enabling seamless integration into existing applications.

The phyCORE®-AM62A is equipped with a powerful deep learning accelerator that has an integrated DSP and achieves a computing power of 2 TOPS with the C7x256v. This feature enables the efficient execution of complex deep learning models directly on the module. For applications in the field of image processing and video transmission, the phyCORE®-AM62A offers a 4-lane MIPI CSI camera interface. In addition, the module supports H264/H265 video encoding and decoding with a resolution of up to 4K at 30 frames per second, making it ideal for high-resolution video applications. In cooperation with PHYTEC, developers can integrate Secure Boot into their applications. All phyCORE-AM62A modules offer the possibility to burn security keys directly into the processor and establish a root of trust. This ensures that only trusted code is executed on the device, which significantly increases the security of the applications. Thanks to the heterogeneous architecture of the TI AM62A processor, most applications can be run under Linux, while critical components are offloaded to the specialized, low-latency and best-in-class real-time Cortex-R5 core. This enables optimal performance for time-critical tasks. With a size of only 40 mm x 40 mm and a 270-pin direct solder interconnect, the phyCORE®-AM62A module offers a variety of common interfaces, including Ethernet, CAN, UART, I2C and SPI. These versatile connectivity options enable easy integration into various systems and applications.
