Product details
phyFLEX‑i.MX 937 FPSC SoM – optimal performance despite memory shortages thanks to LPDDR5 technology
The phyFLEX-i.MX 937 utilizes the NXP i.MX 937 processor, a modern platform that balances performance and efficiency. In the current market environment with highly volatile memory prices, the module offers a decisive advantage: it uses LPDDR5, currently the most cost-effective and widely available memory type. This delivers high bandwidth of up to 5,8 GB/s while maintaining excellent energy efficiency, thus enabling a particularly attractive price-performance ratio – even under the current RAM shortage. Furthermore, thanks to Phytec's FPSC standard, all phyFLEX modules can be replaced without redesigning the carrier board. This makes the phyFLEX-i.MX 937 SoM the economically sound choice in the mid-performance segment – today and for the future.
AI acceleration and graphics performance: NPU and 3D GPU in the phyFLEX-i.MX 937
The processor's integrated edge intelligence capabilities open up new possibilities for smart devices in the phyFLEX-i.MX 937. The NXP eIQ® Neutron NPU delivers up to 1 TOPS of computing power for AI models at the edge, while the Arm Mali-G310 3D GPU (27 GFLOPS) efficiently accelerates graphics and visualization tasks.
Areas of Application:
Compact computing power with the i.MX 937 – a high-performance SoM for demanding embedded systems
The phyFLEX-i.MX 937 FPSC SoM is based on a quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 processor with up to 1,7 GHz and an additional Arm Cortex-M33 core (250–333 MHz) for tasks with real-time requirements. This architecture is complemented by an integrated NPU (0,5–1 TOPS) for AI acceleration and a 3D GPU with 27 GFLOPS for high-performance visualizations and user interfaces. High-speed interfaces such as PCIe Gen 3.0 and two Gigabit Ethernet ports with TSN support are available for fast data exchange. Thanks to the FPSC standard, the module is pin-compatible with other phyFLEX-Productsn, which makes the development particularly flexible and scalable.
Security and software ecosystem of the phyFLEX-i.MX 937 FPSC
The phyFLEX-i.MX 937 FPSC SoM integrates the NXP EdgeLock Secure Enclave, a hardware-based security solution that autonomously protects critical functions such as root of trust, secure boot, runtime attestation, and post-quantum cryptography (PQC). Phytec complements this hardware security with its Linux-based phyBSP and the RAUC Client. Both It provides a robust foundation for secure applications. This combination enables developers to use a certifiable platform with minimal effort for compliance-sensitive projects.
