phyFLEX-i.MX 937/952 FPSC for cost-effective multimedia and vision systems

The phyFLEX-i.MX 937/952 FPSC is a compact FPSC soldering module that can be equipped with either the NXP i.MX 937 or the NXP i.MX 952. Both processors offer up to four Arm Cortex-A55 cores with a clock speed of up to 1,7 GHz, LPDDR5 memory interface, and an Arm® The i.MX 937 features a Mali™-G310 GPU and is suitable for industrial HMI, multimedia, and vision applications. While the i.MX 937 provides a cost-optimized foundation for graphical user interfaces and multimedia systems, the i.MX 952 expands the range of applications with more powerful graphics, video, and image processing capabilities, such as an integrated ISP and 4K video processing.

A compact soldering module for the NXP i.MX 937 and i.MX 952

PHYTEC integrates the selected processor, along with all system components required for operation, onto a compact modular board. In addition to the LPDDR5 memory interface, the SoM includes, among other things, the power supply, clock and reset management, and other processor-related circuitry. The standardized FPSC footprint provides the relevant processor interfaces for the development of customer-specific carrier boards. As a result, the phyFLEX-i.MX 937/952 FPSC reduces hardware complexity and creates a compact and industrially robust foundation for embedded systems.

Areas of Application:

Scalable ProductsDevelopment with the FPSC footprint

The SoM can be equipped with either the NXP i.MX 937 or the NXP i.MX 952. Both SoMs share the same FPSC footprint, enabling scalability within the same carrier board design. Switching to the NXP i.MX 952 provides access to higher graphics and computing performance, as well as additional video and image processing capabilities, without requiring a complete redesign of the underlying hardware concept. Other phyFLEX Gamma modules can also be used with processors from other manufacturers, following the same principle.

Software ecosystem

The software ecosystem supports the commissioning of the SoM and its integration into customer-specific embedded systems. Linux-BSPSoftware, device drivers and technical support form a production-oriented basis to reduce development effort and accelerate the path to a production-ready product.
