3D Lens Data with Field of View:
PHYTEC Simplifies Camera Integration
- STEP files for more than 20 lenses available for download
- Includes visualized field of view, adapted to PHYTEC camera modules
- Comprehensive services for custom optics, integration, and calibration

Mainz, January 14, 2026
PHYTEC is providing STEP files for more than 20 S-mount lenses, adapted to PHYTEC board-level cameras and including a visualized field of view. The CAD models simplify the selection and integration of suitable cameras and optics. They are available for free download from the company's website. In addition, PHYTEC supports the selection, integration, and calibration of cameras and supplies custom optics for volume products upon request.
Using the STEP files for camera modules and lenses, companies can integrate embedded vision components into the design and visualization of their products and assemblies. The 3D data from PHYTEC also includes the visualized field of view (FOV) of the lenses, adapted to PHYTEC board-level cameras. This allows system designers to approve the selected camera-lens combination for the installation scenario and the overall system. Important factors such as the regular working range and minimum object distance are color-coded. Consequently, the 3D models reduce the time and effort required to select optical components and accelerate the development of the embedded vision system.
From Prototype to Custom Vision System
PHYTEC supports companies in selecting and integrating cameras and optics as well as in the design of embedded vision systems. For this purpose, the company offers ready-to-use embedded imaging kits for numerous processors, such as the i.MX 95 and i.MX 93, as well as the i.MX 8M Plus series from NXP, and for processors from Texas Instruments and STMicroelectronics. These kits are available including an individually selectable camera module and lens, and already feature V4L2 camera drivers and vision libraries in the pre-installed Linux operating system. Special processor units and functionalities such as NPUs and ISPs can be used and tested directly, further accelerating development. Based on over 35 years of expertise and experience with embedded vision projects, PHYTEC also offers individual services ranging from consulting on cameras and optics to support with design, integration, and development, as well as software adjustments and special services such as ISP calibration for specific camera-lens combinations.
Embedded Vision – Made in Mainz
The company produces all electronics, including its own cameras, at its site in Mainz. In the newly built facility, PHYTEC has special dust-protected workspaces for the assembly of cameras, including optics and filters. This allows custom optics for volume products to be delivered completely assembled, adjusted, and calibrated. Customers thus receive their embedded vision systems entirely from a single source and a single point of contact. This ensures maximum production efficiency and reliable delivery throughout the product's entire life cycle.
