Power2Drive:
PHYTEC and partners launch EVCS-Cube Consortium

Mainz, May 22, 2025
Strong partners for the rapid development of individual charging solutions: At Power2Drive, Phytec, Pionix, Frickly Systems, CuroCon and Alp agreed to officially establish the EVCS-Cube Consortium. The EVCS-Cube is a complete development kit for DC and AC charging solutions that enables the evaluation of components and direct entry into development. The partners participate in the further development of the EVCS-Cube and support customers from the product idea to market success.
The EVCS-Cube Consortium was founded to establish close cooperation in the field of charging technology for electric vehicles. It is coordinated by Phytec as consortium leader, whose phyVERSO-EVCS charging controller forms the basis for the development kit. It has a modular design and can be customized for charging solutions. In addition to the hardware and this development service, Phytec also offers system-on-modules and individual embedded electronics including software, design-in support and lifecycle services that accelerate customer development. Pionix provides the BaseCamp Charger operating system, which is supplied as an evaluation version with the EVCS-Cube. It simplifies development and ensures compatibility with the latest charging protocols and communication standards. Pionix BaseCamp is based on the open source framework EVerest from the Linux Energy Foundation. Frickly Systems is a partner of the consortium for customization of drivers and system integration of components for EV charging systems. CuroCon provides support from the design of the hardware to the testing of the overall system in compliance with calibration laws such as the German Eichrecht. As another member of the consortium, Alp is a partner for the development of housings, from urban charging stations to robust highway units.
Close cooperation for rapid ramp-up to series success
The close cooperation between the companies enables them to provide customers with fast and targeted support in the development of their own charging solutions and to optimally complement their own expertise. The EVCS-Cube Development Kit for charging stations has already been created as a joint project between the companies. Out-of-the-box, it supports basic charging for many vehicles, allowing to quickly start developing individual charging applications. The components of the EVCS-Cube have been selected for industrial and product series suitability and originate from renowned partners such as Huawei, Actron, Isabellenhütte and Bender. They are housed in the robust and spacious casing of the EVCS-Cube, arranged and wired on the basis of applicable standards and extensive practical experience. All components can be easily replaced and added to in order to adapt the EVCS-Cube to individual projects and requirements.
The EVCS Cube is now available in two versions:
- EVCS-Cube PoC including DC charging: 4.990,00 euros (plus VAT)
- EVCS-Cube Basic with AC charging electronics: 590,00 euros (plus VAT)
